This is an oil obtained from marine invertebrates belonging to the order Euphausiacea.
It is a source of polyunsaturated fatty acids – particularly omega 3 – which have been attributed beneficial properties in terms of reducing inflammation, cholesterol, and the ability of platelets to aggregate and form dangerous clots in the bloodstream. Its use is proposed to combat cardiovascular diseases, excessive levels of triglycerides or cholesterol, premenstrual syndrome, and painful menstruation.
