KUDZU or KUZU (Pueraria montana lobata)

A plant with a thousand virtues

Pain-relieving - muscle relaxant - anti-stress

Used to reduce withdrawal symptoms from alcohol and nicotine
It is a wild climbing plant, native to Japan and belonging to the Fabaceae family (legumes). This plant is perennial, very long-lived, capable of living up to 100 years. It is a resilient plant: its roots can develop up to 100 meters in length, while its branches can grow up to 30 cm in one day and up to 30 m in one season.

According to studies, Kudzu exerts a pain-relieving, muscle relaxant, antioxidant, antipyretic action, creates relief, facilitates digestion by reducing intestinal inflammation, and is very effective against stress.

The detoxifying effect of Kuzu ensures such speed as to drastically reduce the symptoms of alcohol and nicotine dependence, playing a fundamental role in counteracting the receptors of these substances and preventing the onset of withdrawal crises.

Studies conducted at the Universities of North Carolina and Harvard have shown that, in addition to not presenting significant side effects, Kuzu (through isoflavones) acts on neurotransmitters such as serotonin, glutamate, and GABA to the extent of stimulating dopamine production. In this way, it replaces substances like drugs, tobacco, alcohol, and sugars, compensating for the pleasure experienced through their consumption.

The detoxifying properties of the Kuzu root are attributable to the high content of isoflavones, particularly genistein and daidzein.

Kuzu can also represent a valuable natural aid in cases of hypertension or migraine, since the isoflavones it contains promote a reduction in blood pressure, also improving blood circulation and oxygenation.
